Steel Price Explosion!
**Emergency Surcharge**
Effective with shipments as of March 1, 2004 Myers Container/CMS will pass
through to its customer base a $90/ton steel surcharge imposed by our steel
suppliers on all new steel drums and reconditioned drums with new
components. Additional increases from the mills are anticipated in the days
and weeks ahead. The steel mills have fallen down on their guaranteed
supply commitments that may yet create a need to allocate or substitute
product in order to meet your container needs for the foreseeable future.
We
sincerely regret the necessity of these increases but the circumstances
involved are beyond our ability to control the situation.
