May 4,
2004 Steel Drum Pricing
10.6% Price Increase
Myers
Container/CMS will implement a 10.6% price increase on all new steel
drums and any reconditioned drums with new components effective May 4,
2004. We regret our deviation from our normal 30-day notification practice
but we are being notified on almost a daily basis of price increases from
our steel suppliers as they deal with worldwide shortages of raw material
for steel production. Additional increases from the mills are anticipated
in the days and weeks ahead.
Lead Times
Our steel
vendors continue to readjust lead times to us and continually fall down on
their guaranteed supply commitments. This situation may create a need to
allocate or substitute product in the future.
Effective immediately,
Myers Container is asking for a minimum of 7 business days for all
orders. We appreciate any assistance you can provide by placing orders as
far as possible in the future to insure availability. Advanced orders
will not guarantee pricing which will be subject to pricing at the time of
delivery.
This additional time
factor will allow us to manage our limited steel supply efficiently and
accurately to cover your needs.
Supply Commitment
Please be assured that Myers Container/CMS is not accepting additional or
new business from any non-established customers due to our commitment to
cover our existing customer’s requirements with our limited steel inventory.
Thanks for you support during these
difficult times.
