Myers Container invests in the future with a new facility

Emeryville, California – Myers Container breaks ground on a new state-of-the-art facility to be brought on-line by the end of 2004.

The new operation is strategically located in the heart of the LA basin in the City of Industry.  The multi-million dollar investment signifies a commitment by Myers Container to remain the premier industrial packaging manufacturer and reconditioner in the Western United States.  The new facility is designed to be the most environmentally friendly operation in the industry with unique equipment designed to minimize emissions and energy consumption.

“We are staking our claim on the future” states John Cutt, President and CEO of Myers Container, “Our investment illustrates our intention to grow this company.  We are driven to be the best container company in America.  Our customers and the families that depend on Myers Container can count on us for their future.”

Myers Container’s roots stem back to the company’s formation by George Myers in 1919.  The present management team purchased Myers Container from Kaiser Steel in 1984.  Today, the three operating families, Cutt, Holmes and Stavig, each own an equal share of the company.  Each family has a second generation leading the company with Peter Cutt, Michael Holmes and Kyle Stavig prepared to take the company into the future.

Through multiple plants located in the Western United States, Myers Container manufactures a complete line of eight to eighty-five (8-85) gallon carbon steel and galvanized steel drums. The product line includes salvage drums, nestable drums, containerizable drums, and powdercoated steel drums for hard-to-hold and exotic high-purity ladings.

Container Management Services, LLC, the joint venture between Myers Container and Container Management Services, provides reconditioning services for Drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) throughout the West.
